The Centre for Comparative European Survey Data was founded in 1995.
Its mission statement was simply to improve the accessibility of comparative
social survey data. To this end we:

develop information systems designed
to improve the accessibility of comparative
survey data

provide specialist support
for members of the academic community
wishing to work with secondary, comparative
European survey data sets

carry out methodological
research to improve conceptualisation
and operationalisation of inter-national
and inter-cultural analyses

carry out
original research drawing upon survey
data; and support postgraduate
taught courses and research students.
